During the month of December, and the first week of January, the Farm To Fork team ran a crowd funding campaign.
The goal of the campaign was to raise at least $5000 to support the efforts of the students in the School of Computer Science at the University of Guelph who are developing innovative solutions to help address the issues of food insecurity in our communities. This includes the Farm To Fork program, the Garden Fresh Box program, and Meal Exchange’s Trick Or Eat program.
Thanks to the support of numerous donors, the campaign was a huge success. More than $5000 was raised. In addition to this, the Dean of the College of Physical and Engineering Sciences at the University of Guelph matched your donations! Because of this, the students will continue creating and building innovative solutions that ensure that everyone in our community has access to healthy food. We can’t thank you enough.
Of course, our work continues. This semester we’ve been rebuilding the Farm To Fork website so that it’s better than ever and easier to use. We’ve also restructured things to allow Farm To Fork to grow with any community that wants to use it. The new website will be launched in the coming months. Following that, we’ll be putting the final touches on the mobile app, and completing the work necessary to make the Garden Fresh Box and Trick Or Eat programs available to everyone.
This work couldn’t happen without your support.
