Farm To Fork is happy to announce that another awesome group is about to kick things up a notch in Guelph. Launching in October, Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers will meet each month at 39 Carden Street Bistro to enjoy a light meal while preparing fresh nutritious soup for the women and children of Guelph-Wellington Women In Crisis centre.
The group is also looking to raise about $400-$500 to purchase a freezer for the centre to store the soup. More details are provided below from local organizer Victoria Edge. If you are able to, please consider donating to this awesome cause, or join them for dinner and an evening of socializing while warming hearts – one bowl at a time.
Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers launch Monday October 6th 2014 in partnership with local restaurant 39 Carden Street Bistro and in support of Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis; 6-9pm.
This event will kick off monthly events, where Guelph Soup Sisters and Broth Brothers will host evening gatherings of about 20 eager participants at 39 Carden Street Bistro. Led by our fabulous chef Becky Hood, we will enjoy each others company as we chop, sauté, cook and then deliver 50-60 litres of delicious and nutritious soups for Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis to distribute as needed.
Participants each pay $55 to attend an evening, with funds going primarily towards purchasing ingredients and also to fund SoupSister operations and supplies. Registration and information can be found at www.soupsisters.org.
