Growing With The Food Bank Of Waterloo Region

The Farm To Fork team is excited to announce that we have partnered with the fine folks at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region – a 100% community supported and funded food bank that distributes more than 26 thousand pounds of food each and every week.

What does this mean?

It means that Farm To Fork is growing beyond the boundaries of Guelph. More importantly, it means that people who live in the Waterloo region can now join the Farm To Fork mission by signing up for an account, identifying a day they go grocery shopping, and pledging the items that are needed.

We’re pretty excited to be able to bring the project to another city, and we’re looking forward to expanding further. If you are interested in bringing Farm To Fork to your neighbourhood, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Until then, you can continue to follow our updates here, and continue to spread the word about food insecurity. Together we can get the right food, to the right people, at the right time.

About The Food Bank of Waterloo Region

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is a charitable organization created by the community, and supported by the community. We obtain and distribute emergency food from our neighbours for our neighbours. We are 100% community supported and funded. Each week, The Food Bank distributes more than 26,000 lbs of fresh, frozen and non-perishable food for families, children, senior citizens and individuals in Waterloo Region through more than 80 community programs.

Every day, we know that: one house on every street will seek food assistance; 260 people will request a food hamper; and 1,500 community meals will be served. The need for assistance can happen to anyone at any time – job loss, bad investment, broken relationship, poor life choice, or a sudden medical crisis. Most people never expect it to happen. Fortunately, they live in a caring community. Learn more about The Food Bank of Waterloo Region:
